Payroll Changes
The initial payroll change from 24 to 26 weeks has been successful! The next step is electronic timesheets. This will not only be timesaving for all parties, but will assist employees tracking their leave balances, etc. The transition is in its early stages so there is quite a bit of fine tuning to be done before we go live!

ARDC's Window
Ardy and the ARDC staff have been busy working on the side window. The plan has been put into motion to use the space for announcements. Currently there is a poster introducing the public to ARDC and its divisions. Now that we've gained people's attention, the next step will be showcasing the upcoming events open to the public.

2nd Annual Bike to Work!
May brought not just flowers, but the start of ARDC’s Bike to Work Week (BTWW) celebration!

Monday, May 14 was the Kick-off Event. The ARDC welcoming committee greeted riders in the garage with a 2nd breakfast of juice, fruit and toast. A big map was available for tracing riders routes. For the rest of the week, people were encouraged to ride their bikes to the store, to work, to the post office, to a meeting.

The week finished with the City of Duluth celebrating Bike to Work Day, with a morning event from 7:30-9am at the Duluth Civic Center. ARDC got together for a potluck lunch that not only included sharing food, but stories from riders and non-riders.

Great job, everyone! See you next year!

ARDC's Unusual Christmas Tree Decorations
This Christmas ARDC's staff has continued working with Life House. At this time of year there's lots of sniffles and colds going around and most of us don't give a second thought to getting the thermometer out or running to get cough medicine. We didn't until we called Life House to see what those young moms and dads needed. It wasn't mittens or hats; but those everyday things. So, we have begun collecting items such as Pedialyte, thermometers, fever reducers, cough medicines. Little items get a bow and hook to become our Christmas tree decorations, other items go underneath like presents. We've received some generous donations both in items and cash. However, time is running out since we want to get them to Life House early - December 12th is our deadline. So when you're out getting everything you need for your cold, think of the Life House and pick up one more. Thanks and have a Great Holiday!
